Ceramic Ranking Project

The final two weeks and four days ranking project is about making a ceramic piece of our own choice.
I decided to continue from where i stop before the Easter break.  we were shown how to do monoprint, paper resist and how to make glazes of different kinds and there recipe. I made three different type of vessel. I use transparent crackle glaze raku and the other one was naked raku. I am delighted the way the three pieces turn out.

Tool of the Trade.

The final week of the ranking project, i did some thumbnails sketches of plumber tools and also explore in different shape and forms. I also looked at the negative and positive space by cutting out the various tools from the cardboard and clay.
We visited the gallery at the design center in Kilkenny to see some of the portfolio exhibition of Frances Lambe. we also saw some other artist workpieces
We visited Karen Morgan’s shop and her pottery studio
We also visited the school of pottery.











Though we spent a whole day, but it worth it. I had the opportunity to visit Kilkenny and I got some ideas about what I might be doing next.

Raking project for Ceramic

The second week was about exploring some of the information i gathered on tools and equipments. I did some line drawing in ink and charcoal. I also looked at the shape and form, then drew it on a n A2 paper.
I translate/ develop the forms in different media, such as using wire, cardboard and fabrics to make 2D and 3D pic.

Raking project for Ceramic

The theme for the project is tools and trade and the title i picked is plumber. In this week i did a research on  plumber tools and their equipments. And i also look at some of the ways we can explore this tools into forms by drawing with ink or chalk, wire, cardboard and clay by looking at some of the artist in textbooks and then some of the website.
I  took some photograph of some of the tool a plumber use and the equipment they install.
